Summer is the fastest growing dating app in the US! It's also the first major UX pattern change in a top dating app.

There's no swiping on Summer, instead users see a grid of users sorted by proximity, mimicking the experience of a bar/club in the real world. Swiping is not a natural UX patterns to how humans "check eachother out" so we believed it was time to push the boundaries. The 9count team was inspired by the success of popular LGBT dating app Grindr, and we believed the same UX pattern could work in a mainstream dating app.
